hello looking for a twin room would prefer a smoker friendly place as i already stated on my old account (amsterdam tourist ) i am going 12th to 15th march i have been to amsterdam before on solo trips and stayed in the winston hostel was pretty happy private bathroom only problem was getting kicked out after 1pm to smoke which i did not like and neither will my freind...... For my first night i reserved a night in quentin arrive hotel for only 49 euros twin room has any one been ? but my freind does not like the idea of a shared bathroom ( fussy git ) so for the other nights he would like somewhere with a private shower budget beetween 80 to 100 euros a night

There's a post with a list of all the hotels which allow smoking. Botel allows decreet smoking out your window and is pretty cheap.

best place I saw for your needs is a boat I stayed on recently. It was great. Could smoke on deck with benches, ashtrays and table provided. Even umbrella. Inside no smoking but on deck anything goes.
Those smaller boats are like 15 seconds and you are on deck from the room as well. Cheap too. The only real drawback is small size of cabin.
cheap too.

I stayed on one by nemo, £25 including breakfast ensuite, it was best nights sleep I have ever had in Amsterdam, a rare bargain, would stay again on a short trip no problem if voyagers is booked up.

Booked it off the link on the home page of the forum

It's no secret, whole load of hotel boats over by nemo, some cheap, some pricey, think mine was either called Amsterdam or Holland but there has got to be around 12 boat hotels over there, 5mins to voyagers

The one I stayed at was right by Nemo as well. I forget the specific name of the boat I was on but it had free brekkie and was 40 euro a night. The main reason I booked there was I wanted a cheap place with no cliff like stairs to climb.
It was actually pretty convenient location wise I thought too.Booked it through booking dot com which you can probably access through this site.

I've stayed at the Quentin Arrive on Haarlemmerstraat twice, it's not the worst place I've ever stayed but both times we ended up with bites from presumably bed bugs. When we asked if we could smoke the woman at reception said "Smoking is strictly forbidden at this hotel and you will be fined if caught smoking.", and then preceded to wink and smile which we took as a case of her having to say that due to hotel policy and we never had any trouble blazing at all hours of the day!
