Need to find a high CBD strain.

Hey,
I did a quick search but couldn't find a post even tho' I'm sure it has been asked before so if it has please direct me to the right area.
Basically a friend of mine needs a high CBD strain for medical reasons and I'm not sure what places or strains in Amsterdam would have that right now (or ever).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

Edit: (I've heard Cannatonic, Harlequin and Charlotte's Web are strains which are good for high CBD, has anyone seen any of these)?

It's quite hard to find medical strains in Amsterdam coffeeshops. Last autumn the only one I've seen on a menu was CBD OG Diesel in coffeeshop Johnny.
BTW, check this thread out, maybe you'll find useful info https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... =9&t=22762

High CBD strains are rare in Amsterdam, because it's not much of a medical culture. Too bad you don't have access to California or Colorado- Harlequin and Cannatronic are the two most popular high CBD strains around here in case having some strain names helps your search.

Check out Resin Coffeeshop as they usually have Cannatonic. Resin Seeds is part of the CBD Crew with Mr. Nice Seeds.

Reveen thanks for the great info! I've been curious about the CBD crew stuff- have you tried Cannatonic or any of the others?

No problem. I have not (knowingly) tried a high CBD strain as of yet. I'm definitely curious.

Only 2.6% cbd in that one.
I'd go for a higher cbd level.Positronics cbd oil has 3.999%cbd for example
and a similar level of thc. (Under 0.2%)

I think I know the answer to this, but.. what would be the physical effect of that oil? Would you get a 'stone' of sorts, quite a sleepy indica type feeling?

Just relaxes the body a little bit is the only noticeable effect. Makes sleep a little easier so yes a very very mild indica type feeling but not so much as you'd even really notice.

you can get, with receipt, at apothecary, a strain named "Bediol" with high-CBD and low-THC content. Minimum 8% CBD by weight. It's quite smokable and tasty, altho it's packaged loosely grinded and not as whole buds.

Hey,
thanks so much for the info, I didn't know it was possible to get CBD oil, also could someone let me know where the apothecary is?
Can't seem to find it from searches.

I know this post is over a decade old, but I couldn't resist replying because the Amsterdam scene has changed so much since 2014. Back then, finding high CBD strains like Charlotte's Web was a real mission. Now in 2026, most people have moved away from looking for specific 'medical' strains in coffee shops and just order lab-tested products online for consistency. I actually found a shop that ships high-grade CBD with full lab reports, I'll drop the name if you're still interested.

This is certainly true it's pretty easy to find CBD flower online. It's worth mentioning that Coffeeshop Siberie usually have a CDB strain on the menu. I like to use it 1:1 with the lower THC strains when I'm in the Dam.

Cheers!
