Cannabis is decriminalised in some states of Australia. Possession of small quantities is generally permitted. 1 or 2 plants are allowed in some places.
Cannabis tourism: There was something resembling a coffeeshop in Nimbin once, apparently, but nothing at the moment. Discretion is advised.

Nimbin is alive and well. Although resembling a hippie town. Plenty of street sellers and cafes and specialty shops like BringABong

The walkway next to the museum ( which burnt down ) was where I made my connection.
