Hey everyone, apologies for not posting here for ages, you know how it is... anyway, just wanted to tell everyone that I'm off to Amsterdam again from Tuesday August 23 coming back on Friday August 26.

As always I'm going with my brother & ACD member Tommy, & joining us will be Tommy's friend & `Dam virgin Chloe. My missus would have liked to have gone again but she couldn't get the time off work in such short notice.

We're flying to Schipol for the first time (from East Midlands) rather than the ferry, which means we'll be staying for 3 glorious nights at our favourite coffeeshop The Greenhouse Effect's hotel! I'm really excited about sleeping above the place I spend 90% of my time in Ver Dam, I'll hardly have to move! Plus reports from Valo & others have said that the Effect hotel is dead nice; according to an e-mail I got from them we'll be staying in the Mary Jane room, which has shower, lavvy & a mini-bar, which is something I've never had in any hotel room I've stayed at before, not even in London (the mini-bar, that is, not the shower & bog!)

Anyone else who might be going around the same time, let us know & we'll look out for you around Warmostraat, if not, hopefully I'll have tales to tell & photos to show you all after we get back... Peace, brahs

Damn i'm jealous, only because you get to go sooner than me. I still got another 29 days until my short stop at the GHE (outer space room incase you were wondering ). I'm sure you will like it, the retro room was far better than i expected from a 1* hotel. Although I can't comment on the breakfast as i'm not much of a morning eater. The mini bar was kind of neat too, I bought a lot of chocolate and drinks from the mini supermarket just round the corner in Lange Niezel and filled up the mini bar most nights. Plus a bonus was on check out they couldn't be bothered going up flights of stairs to check how much we had taken from the bar so when we started listing things they stopped at €10 and just took that (we must of had around €20-25 over 3 nights), nice staff definately.

I've still yet to make a proper stop in the GHE coffeeshop, only peering through the window, so will have to change that this time around. So difficult with all those other tempting places on the same street and just round the corner!!!

Maybe I'm too set in my ways, but the GHE for me is now always more than just somewhere to pop my head into in passing. I love being able to wile away the hours just watching the world go by with a smoke & a drink. I'm happy enough not to go anywhere else for hours on end!

It'd be no good taking me on a coffeshop crawl, you wouldn't be able to get me to move!
