It seems to be that weed that doesn’t burn properly, tastes bad and needs relighting every couple of tokes tends to be black ash. This ash will also quite often be kinda hard, seems to me that it’s not fully burned.

Weed that burns properly, tastes good and smokes well tends to have a more grey - white and very soft ash.

It all stems from instagram pictures so of corse the only thing you see is the colour of the ash not the quality of the burn or the taste.

What I’ve experienced applies only to pure joints. Tobacco burns white. Hash also usually burns white.

Sometimes if you hold a lighter (or blowtorch) over the dark ash at the end of a joint it will go white.

People still continue the Sativa / Indica myth - so debating the ash myth is years away.
