Tourist naked through the streets in Amsterdam West after using 'magic mushrooms'

This weekend a German tourist caused a chaos on the Haarlemmerweg in Amsterdam-West, where he ran around naked.

In the end a truck driver picked him up, and handed him over to the police, who brought him to the psychiatric ward of a hospital for treatment.
The German man said he had been using 'magic mushrooms', mushrooms that contain a drug.

The incident is another one in a series of mushroom-related incidents, some of which with serious consequences. The number of incidents in which an ambulance was called, increased from 55 in 2005 to 128 in 2006.

A week ago, a British tourist attacked his Danish friend after eating the mushrooms. Several police officers were needed to control the British man (who was put in a prison cell for a night to calm down).

Mayor Job Cohen recently announced he wants to implement a 3-day cooling-off period between the sale and the delivery of the mushrooms. In the meantime, the buyers should get the opportunity to get information about the effects of 'magic mushrooms' (nicknamed 'paddo's' in Dutch).

sorry to say but everyone can have a bad trips! iv had the experience and is the raison why i dont do them anymore. and i was a heavy user.
and here in canada it hard to know want you realy gettin we are told take at own risk and iv seen ppl who used alot freak out on some bad shroom.could happen to anyone even you.

im happy for this law wasnt to impress first time in holland seing they sold they freely like they do iv even tryed some and BOUFF nothing special!but even there could of been a bad batsh of shroom!

Your arguments would be more convincing if you understood grammar rules and could spell. The report from the indepedent commission has already shown that illegalizing the sale of mushrooms will result in increased risked for users. Then people might actually get these "bad shrooms" you are talking about, but smart shops have strict quality controls. The shrooms even have a best by date on them.

did shrooms once, my friend had a bit of a freak out but cos one of us didnt have much of a dose she was able to keep him calm, we were smart about it all by makin sure we were in a calm environment that felt safe ( hotel room) and that there was someone there who could sort anything out, ( we also knew if we had any problems the hotel would help seein as the guy helped us make our pot noodles which we had them with)

the problem is i reckon people not really knowing enough about them before taking them then not benig able to handle what comes next.

With any type of trip you need to be in the right environment and only take what you can handle.

Last time I took them, which was back in April. I was waiting to purchase mine from the SmartShop next door to Rookies, there was a young couple in front of me asking loads of questions about them and the seller was taking them through how many to take when to take them what to do if things start getting a little hairy.

Now if only everyone else who considered taking them sought out or was given this sort of advice you wouldn't have half of the incidents that are happening.

i imagine some people go out there just wanting to get fucked up, never tripped before and go straight for hawians just cos they are the strongest without really knowing the consequences
