I am going over to Amsterdam for the first time around New Years and would love nothing more then to enjoy the fine pot sold over there back here in the U.S. Is this worth the risk? If yes, what is the recommended way that I should transport it to the States? If, god forbid, I was to get caught what is the common punishment? Note: my flights arrive and depart out of Germany leaving no record of a trip to Amsterdam, but could I run into trouble bringing it from Amsterdam to Germany? Thanks for the help, im confused on what to do and this seems to be quite the panel of experts.

if you get caught you face YEARS in jail. No just 1 or 2 but several depending on quantity and about 10000 other varibles.

Keep in mind you intend on breaking Federal law not your states law.

I think the penality is 5 years even if you are carrying only a few grams.

Seriously, do you really want to risk 5 years in Federal prison for drug smuggling with what probably amounts to a few dollars worth of pot?

yep, and Federal prosecutors are ASSHOLES trying to work their way into political office so they have something to prove.

I could think of nothing more enjoyable that smoking some of the finest Amsterdam has to offer on this side of the pond, HOWEVER, like mazdog and sonicblue have said it's not worth it. I hate to admit it but have considered it myself - don't fool yourself customs / security are not just looking for terrorists. On a trip TO Europe last year my fiancee was tagged as having drugs in her bag. What the x-ray of her carry on bag "saw" was a plastic bag of Euro coin a co worker had given her.

I Agree with all the above. How about this? Find your favorite smoke while your there, see who sells those seeds and when you get home, buy some from the internet and grow your own. I haven't bought weed in years thanks to our good friends from Canada who have some outstanding seeds companies. Just a thought. AzLaker

wonderful suggestion! Nothing is more rewarding that tending to your own garden and enjoying the fruits of ones labor. I was fortunate to find seeds in two expensive bags which later became a lovely forest in my bedroom closet.

Where do you guys in the States order your seeds from? I keep hearing Canada, but where? Which company?

Stygian23, there are so many. In Canada and some folks in the Netherlands will mail you seeds. Do a seach on mj seeds and you'll find a ton. Good luck. AzLaker

thats a good idea I must say.. fisk-free, for big amount..

I have a few questions about growing:

a friend told me that it is good to cut the extremety of a shoot so that it splits into two shoots and hence makes more buds.. does that mean the extra buds are going to be big buds? or does that mean they will be smaller buds?

and when you want to harvest.. you only cut the buds off.. right? you don't kill the plant altogether.. you cut the buds, and you let it grow until next harvest time.. or does that kill the plant also?

I have not grown anything in a long time but clipping stalks to produce more branches and thus more buds may or may not be a good idea. It depends on the breed of the plant. Some plants will do best without clipping while others will create a greater yield of buds by clipping. It's best to refer to the seed company for advice as they have the experience with the strain(s) you purchased.

As far as harvest, normally you prune the shade leaves to allow more of the plants resources for bud production. The plant is going to die but you can save clippings to start the next generation. There are plenty of good books available to explain this in detail.

You can also leave the fan leaves alone and harvest the buds from the top of the plant (thus allowing more light to the base of the plant) and harvest the rest of the plant later. You can then throw the plant back into vegetative cycle for a week or two then back into flowering. You don't have to kill the plant to harvest.

I agree with sonicblue, except leave your fan leaves on as long as possible, unless they turn brown and die. They provide your smaller branches and buds with all kinds of nutrients, plus give shade from that HOT light. Cut the whole plant down. Take clones prior to putting her on 12/12 and start again. I agree. I walked right thru security at my airport. No dogs no check just questions. I was pissed as I could have brought home plenty,but glad still I did not. DO NOT CHANCE IT!!!! Not worth it!
