just got backfrom the3 dam, i picked up some white widow seeds. I have planted them 3 days ago after having them in cotton wool for 24 days.

Thing is they have grown but they are long and thing (4 cm) with 2 leaves at top, this doesnt look normal

Am i doing something wrong? Should i put them deeper into soil?

put them closer to the light. that will solve your problem.

ok i am in sout spain so theres plenty of sun shine should i put them deeper soleavees are just above the soil

It doesn't sound that uncommon to me. It sounds like you're describing a cotelydon, the two little roundish leaves that appear in early germination, usually accompanied by a single jagged leaf. More normal-looking leaf patterns will appear next.

If you're using outdoor light for germination, even at this time of year, and even in southern Spain, you're better off using 24-hour soft fluorescent lighting and putting them indoors for a while. But, hey, if this is what you've got, keep going.

As for when you need to transplant to deepen the roots, it certainly isn't at 4 centimeters. If you're sprouting in a 72-cell flat, about 14 days after planting is the right time. But it all depends on when your roots expand to fill the existing planter, so a complete answer on when you would get your best results from transplanting requires more information from you about the size of the planter you're using now.
