are there any good burger joints in a'dam?

i want like a good homemade cheeseburger and fries (maybe even some mayo to dip them in).
cheeseburgers are nice for munch time.
also do they have any good tex-mex type places. like taco cabana or taco bueno?

The NY Steak House (think that's its name, it's right next to the Three Sisters) on Rembrantplein has an excellent burger, as do a few other smaller eatteries in the area. Dutch burgers (at least the 30 or so I ate) are the best burgers I have ever eaten. Totally ruined burgers for me as none of the burgers I can get in America are even remotely as flavorfully seasoned. The meat is incredible.

the burger in FEBO don't always look so hot but the few i had were actually really good (keep in mind this was after longs days smoking a-dam weed all day for the first time).
We went to this "tex-mex" place on one of streets right off the Leidsplein, and it was completely NOT what i consider tex-mex but it was REALLY good...and of course i don't remember the name, but it was like the only one and it was kinda big compared to its neighbors.
wow..i'm am totally stoned and ramblin must log off.....

wow. i can get a pretty mean burger here in texas at some of the mom and pop shops.....this has me looking forward to a cheeseburger munch deluxe in the great city.
ha maz....i'm just glad to hear that there is at least something resembling meskin. sweet.

McDonalds in A'Dam holds a special place in my belly, as the restaurants over there still do the Big Tasty cheeseburger, one that McD's in the Uk stopped serving about a year ago!

mayo to dip your fries in are everywhere, cheeseburgers and tex mex are not as easy to find.

What exactly is Tex Mex food? I always thought of it as mexican food as in fajitas and similar things??
Wouldn't mind checking this place out if they do serve fajitas and such.

well i'll try to define tex-mex. in texas, tex-mex is mexican food that is not quite "authentic" mexican food. we have restaurants in my hometown (north texas) that serve authentic mexican dishes such as menudo, fresh cooked pig skins, beef tongue, etc. food served in tex-mex restaurants include foods like, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, rice, beans, etc. it's kinda hard to pinpoint. like if someone here said that wanted tex-mex we'd go anywhere ranging from Taco Bueno to El Chico. Another bigger tex-mex chain is On the Border. o.k. enough rambling.

For hot and spicey food in Arizona, Los Dos Milanos. Good, but need a couple of cold ones to wash it down. Man I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. AzLaker

I agree with erf...Tex-Mex is amercanized mexican....more mexican than taco bell less mexican then those places that sell menudo and pig feet and tongues and that true mexican stuff.
Imagine it like the the "chinese" food you get from a "take-away" type shop vs. the chinese food you'd get if you went deep into chinatown where they got animals hangin in the windows and a mysterious lack of stray cats and dogs

Easy - Hardrock Cafe on the Leidesplein is known for big american style hamburgers. In a dozen plus trips, I have never set foot in there. Or KFC, McDs, BK and Domino's. I like to eat foreign when in foreign places.
If you want Taco's, go to "The Taco Shop" out on Tolstraat.
