I've just planted out about 8 seedlings, about 5-6weeks old in southern England.

they;re about 10 inches tall, i've buried the stems a bit deeper to give hopefully more stability, and propped em up with plastic forks... they're quite weak stems as they've been indoors to veg a bit, but without much light.

Am I likely to get anything smokable? I reckon I've got to cut by the end of September to protect them from freezing... that gives 4 months outside, and we're meant to be in for a good summer.

even an ounce would be nice, its the idea of growing it myself organically that I like....

let's just suppose your 8 seedlings are all female and they not only survive but thrive and love the conditions in your garden

i may be wrong but if the seedlings are real jamaicans the plants could grow quite tall

do you have a strategy for dealing with 8 very happy and very tall plants?

if so, it all could turn out quite lovely for you

just counted and actually its 10 plants. Some look quite strong, although they're all small... a few look really shit and they may well die.


I'd be happy with that scenario.

heres a couple of pics of what I have so far.

You'll be pushing it time wise to get them to bud to full maturity, I reckon you'll need 16 weeks to flower them.

if I cut them a lil bit early would I just get a more sativa high or a noticable lack in strenghth... I dunno much about growing, smoking on the other hand I'm an expert in

They'll be sativa dominant anyway, you'll get some sort of buzz off them but it'll probably be a very short high time wise, just a guesstiamte as I've only ever grown indica dominant/lowryder strains outside.

Ok, thanks, appreciate the feedback mate. Ideally I'd have some feminized hardy pure indica seeds but I chucked a dozen seeds in some soil to sprout... from jamaican brickweed. Thought I might get 2 or 3 plants, not ten!

Have you thought about how you are going to seperate them to repot?

I have more of these tubs the same size... would I need 1 tub per plant or would 1 be enough for 2plants?

You can put 2 or 3 plants in that tub easily.

Agreed, but seperating the roots to transplant into other containers once the roots have filled the area they are in may be stressful to the plants.

However, moving them now may also be stressful depending on how long they have been in the current tub.

I do not know what to suggest to do, maybe somone who has or does grow this way can help further.

If you're growing pure sativa from Jamaican brickweed, aren't you looking at a 9 month flowering cycle?

The first weed I ever grew was from some random grass of unknown parentage and that flowered fine about sept, for a few weeks - until I discovered I'd got a crop of boys and chopped 'em. Never grown outside before, only indoors in pots and outdoors in greenhouses. What I do know is that the more love and attention you give your plants, the better the results.

I took Boner's advice and invested in Biobizz recently - thought I'd test the Biogrow on my peppers and tomatos while the Lowryder seedlings got going and the results are amazing. Deffo looking forward to trying the flowering formulas.

So - fertiliser, flowering formula (later on) and lots of kind words. Good luck.

Nice one, I have my eye on the BAC nutrient range next, need to do some more research first though.

I dont really think youll get much smoke and it will be pretty loose buds due to the climate in the uk, and jamaican strains do take a while to flower.

you also need to think about the amount of daylight in the day at this time of year which I do believe is more than twelve hours,so your plants wont even start flowering until the amount of light we get in the day drops to about 12hrs or below.
