hello my friend just brought some really good seeds back (titan haze) which he would like to grow , but living in a tropical country with alot of rainj, humidity and hot temps long reg days (about 8-12 hrs of light all year round ) it seems that it may be a challenge. esp since the consideration was growing it outdoor. my options now are building a greenhouse that i can rig a motor to so that it cover's it self out for black out to flower it but then i would be making it more humid in the house thus making it more mold-friendly....... i was thinking of just planting it in the nearby woods up in the mountain by the sea where there is constant wind but then i worry about the water supply being to far.... dammit for all this trouble i hope it becomes worth the while.

You need to start off indoors (or extend the natural daylight) so that you can give them the required 18+ hours of light per day.

Then put them outside to flower.

Flourescent lighting should be sufficient, and you could even keep a mother going in order to continually take cuttings.

Agree with DD. I've seen pics of indica based seeds that flower on a 12/12 cycle grown in the Caribbean - and they reach perhaps a foot in height. Basically, as soon as they go outside they'll start to flower, so you need to give them 18+ light to get them to a decent size first - an 8 inch plant should grow to about 3 ft - they stretch like crazy when flowering, so take it from there.

Looks like they take 10-14 weeks to flower, I'd plant some and let them just go, Indicas aren't the best plant to grow on a 12/12 cycle from the off but a Sativa dominant plant will do just fine.

Take some pics along the way so we can see your progress, I bet it'll be really interesting.

Yea i think vegging a few plants on florescent should work then ill move them out to the out door and let them flower automatically through the short days that i have here. And I didn't realise sativa dominant plants were ok starting off on a 12/12 cycle.

Yeah a lot of people say it's not a very good way of growing but I've seen plenty of 12/12 from seed grows to say it does work, that Quaze/Quazer strain is supposed to be a 100% sativa from the equitorial region so that has to grow naturally on a 12/12.

I am with Boner on this issue.

Guys, don't forget that cannabis does naturally grow in equitorial regions.

I suspect that the plants themselves will easily acclimatise, especially strains from these regions or with genetics from those regions.

Also, don't forget that outdoor grows work well even with moonlight and other sorts of light that would be termed "light pollution" in indoor grows. There does not need to a complete darkness period for outdoor grows.

I think that this might, partially, be due to the fact that the shift from light to dark period, in outdoor grows, is gradual, whereas in indoors it is immediate. Hence, indoor plants tend to "shock" more easily.
