Probably the main reason why my parents decided to stay here even after they both retired with bloody good pensions.
I can't afford to go back (and I wouldn't without my parents while they are still alive).
They devote their lives to yours at the start so it's only fair that you devote your life to theirs at the end.

I am an only child and I have no relatives here so it would be a very hard decision. Our house here is bought and paid for so it would pass on to me and I would be the one to decide whether or not to sell it and move on.
I would most likely go back to Australia to stay because I still speak with an accent (thanks to my parents) and I am still patriotic towards the country of my birth (a lot more so than I am towards Scotland and also thanks to my parents)
I do have friends here but they all have families (wives and kids) so I would wish em all good luck and see where the wind takes me.
I am single and will probably remain single while I am still here.
