when I was there they had the record show going on begining of month though but I found some great shops what is funny is I was stay in amsterdam but packed up my clothes and took them to utrecht to wash them while my friend went to the record show. long way just to wash clothes. Great town just wonder around let your eyes take you places. big mall at station.
lots of stuff right when you get off the train.

Utrecht Coffeeshop Map

Sadly Sarasani is closed down. Wietstok is an excellent little shop and just a few minute walk away is Culture Boat. For some reason it is not on the map, ask directions at Wietstok, it's nearby. It's kind of cool to sit toking on a boat right across the canal from a prison.

Enjoy

I'm not keen on any of the coffeeshop's since Sarasani and Break closed, but check a few out and see what you think - they are all much the same now. I dislike Andersom and Wietstock but many would disagree with me.

As for what to do, climb the Dom Tower if you have the energy - amazing views and its a beautiful historic building.

Sit at one of the cafe's on the sunken canal and watch the world go buy (my favourite is Het Nachtrestaurant underneath Winkel Van Sinkel opposite the pedal boat rental place).

If you like beer go to Kafe Belgie, 196 Oudegracht. they have LOTS of beers, not just Belgian.

Pick up a copy of "Uitloper" from any cafe/restaurant when you arrive and it will tell you what's on for the next week.

Utrecht is a lovely city just to stroll around in really, quite beautiful when its warm and the sun is shining.

Have fun.

If going to Utrecht, don't forget a good map, this town is a maze ..... never got so lost anywhere in the world but this town damn !!

A nice place, is Freaks coffee shop, the budtender is real nice. I spent an afternoon with him chatting, he offered a few cuppa tea :)

There's another one in the center can't recall the name but they had the best choco haze i tried.

There's a yummy vietnamese restaurant as well really worth a stop.
