Tweedy

ACD Page: Tweedy

tweedys is a small coffee shop outside the gates of Vondelpark near a church while I was in Amsterdam i went to a lot of good coffee shops But there were too many loud tourists

but tweedy's was my favourite coffee sho as it was mainly locals popping in for a smoke after work the guy who runs the place is a very funny rasta he seemed to be very smart as when we asked if he sold space cakes he said naa way man he told us some very wise words

If you smoke a joint you can control your high you can take 3 or 4 puffs then put it in the ashtray and your fine but if you eat a space cake you cannot control it and next minute you will be running down the street naked

Me and my friend were giggling for so long as he sells some great strains.

the music was really great with a mix of dancehall and old Skool reggae playing all the time he was also the dj in his little chill room he had a cat that seemed to like getting high and never moved

Has anyone else been to this coffeeshop before and what were your thoughts

Tweedys is an amazing little Uknown coffee shop that not many people know about i lived in Amsterdam for 6 months last year and I stumbled across tweedy's randomly one day i went inside and was welcomed in by the Rastafarian guy I purchased some lovely ak-47 and some white widow he even gave me a deal on 5 grams

I sat down listened to some great reggae really wanted to see if he could do me a copy of his playlist and had a chat with the Rastafarian guy I told him I lived close by and we were chatting for a very long time I also got advice from him as I asked what the truffles are like in Amsterdam and he told me to stay clear of the truffles and if I did take some then get the beginner ones as they have mild hallucinations but unfortunately I had to move back to England and I haven't got chance to go back to the dam since then but i am going back in a few days definitely going to tweedy's when i get to the dam been looking up on the reviews of various coffeeshops for the last couple weeks getting ready for the dam and it was lovely to see some one mention tweedy's as it is a wonderful place and don't get much recognition

I've missed this place when I was staying in the area, partially because I muddled it up with Tuintje on Overtoom, where a couple of trips ago I stopped by and didn't stay, unimpressed by the menu. This time I've resolved to try it, though I won't be near enough for it to be my local. Typical.

The house weed 'Tweedy' was a good example of a hybrid. Felt very comfortable in here. Nice to grab some food from AH on Overtoom, some herb from Tweedy and have a laze about in Vondelpark.

If your near the park its well worth a visit, good atmosphere and a nice range of well priced weed, was the first coffeeshop i ever visited as our group stayed near the park and we went here everyday and found the service to be excellent

Thanks for the reply. We are staying at the Quientin England Hotel, I'm always showered and ready to start the day by 8ish. I was hoping that there would be a coffeeshop close by that opens around that time? Orle mentioned 1e Hulp opens at 7, its not that far away. Do Tweedy usually have decent products?

Its a real Locals shop,so the gear has to be decent and cheap...i always buy my White Widow there, dunno if its still €8,i aint been for a couple of years, but their menu don't change much...their Nepalese Hash is always tasty as well...if they've got it.i assume you've seen the menu http://www.coffeeshopmenus.org/Tweedy/Menus/tweedy.html :)

This was the first coffeeshop I went in over the Cup week as it was just round the corner from my hotel. I bought the Tweedy Special and a g of Caramello. The Tweedy Special was my first J of the trip, too say it was a dissapointment would be an understatement! It wasn't very tasty and that was before I got to the seed in it! The Carramello was pretty nice, and they have a white cat that isn't shy about jumping into your lap for a snooze! The drinks were pretty cheap and they had decent music playing. If I was staying down near it again I would pop in but I wouldn't go out my way for a visit.
