The amount of people on there who are willing to not only purchase but repeat purchase cali strains is pretty shocking. They get quite defensive about it n all. He is most definitely cashing in on the cali hype.

Have you ever smoke Cali weed? I understand hating on the high prices, but I don't see how anyone could hate on stronger weed. Not to say all Cali is fire, but the little I have tried of it here was like crack, much stronger than other weed I've smoked, it's just very overpriced.

Personaly I smoked maybe 3 times "cali imports" from Coffeeshops... I didn´t bought it myself but mates. Well it was really nice... smell, taste, effect everything on point... but I also got "dutch" weed from Coffeeshops with similar quality (and half priced) but to be honest it was pretty rare I got a few batches from Voyagers, Utopia that had this quality level but to find weed like that seems to be the exception... I smoke 95% hash so I am not the person to say something about the weed quality in general.

But my fear is that that it goes like the good tasting flushed weed will be the overpriced "Cali Weed" and they don´t really take care on the "usual" dutch grown weed... so if you want to have good weed you have to pay 25€+ and the cheaper weed is simply not good tasting some shops seems really focus on the "Cali Weed"

It´s good to have the possibility to get "Cali Imports" but only when they still take care of their "own" weed... and well if you think that cocain is cheaper atm than some of the "Cali Imports" someone makes a lot of money

Hopefully not, my wishful theory is that eventually it will burst like any other economic bubble especially given the price that it costs at the source versus what it goes for in Europe, it's just not sustainable and eventually the consumers will put their foot down hard.

you would hope so, especailly as we can get good quality weed, cheaper at home, the novelty of having a smoke in a cafes only with so many euros a gram, and as you can generally smoke vapes, especially concentrate pens outside cafes here in uk, that novelty is going to rapidly disappear, if think prices can't keep going up. More and more weed is getting to 15 euros a gram, a good 5-8 euros than I pay in uk and not as good.

So disappointed what's happened here. Utopia had slipped a touch in my personal coffeeshop hierarchy in the last year or two but it was still a bit of an oasis in that area of town anyway. Now, meh, couldn't be less interested, everyone's entitled to have their own red lines but personally anywhere practising this cali scam (and I do believe that's an appropriate term for it, bollocks is it genuinely imported from California, and even if it is that price is just outright exploitative) is not getting my business ever again.
