Honest answer: I wouldn't risk growing if I lived in an environment with neighbors close enough to smell it. The very thought of growing in an apartment, or a similar location with nosy neighbors, gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Nevertheless, virtually everyone must control odor to some extent, regardless the environment.
There are many ways, but a small ozone generator and exhaust fan are best. They will eliminate all odors. The ozone generator produces particles which must be exhausted, hence the fan. That means you also have to have a place to blow the particle-infested exhaust -- up a vent, out a chimney, out a window, into a water pool, or any other appropriate outlet into which you can string a duct from your exhaust fan.
If you're reading Mr. Cervantes, I'm sure he will tell you all about it.
