DOOG DOES DAM

Post by Doog »

This is Doog reporting live from Amsterdam on a lovely spring morning to bring you the highlights from the first day's play (Monday 27th)

Flight in was fantastic (on time departure and very comfortable for economy class. Limo to the hotel was also nice so I had high hopes when I got there. Construction work is at the front of the hotel but the receptionist was kind enough to give me a room at the back.

Single room. Very small but enough space for me to get things done.

I unpacked my bag and realised that I had forgotten all the ACD maps/tram maps the lot. So I dropped my bags and came out of the hotel for a quick walk round. After a few Heinekens, I stumbled across Greenhouse Centrum and went in for a beer.

It was then time to buy some smoke and the dealer pointed me towards the Silver Pearl at only 6.60E per gram. The smell was all it needed for money and marijuana to change hands.

My first smoke since November 2005 was well worth the wait. The beers before obviously helped but I was absolutely wrecked (Luckily I had the sense to wait until I was back at the hotel before lighting up.)

Basically stayed in my room in the evening getting my baggage sorted out and recovering from my experience.

Had another before going to bed at around 2330. I knew there was much more to come from this holiday...........

Nice start - but go hit the town man. It's the cool and groovy people you end up nattering with in the c-shops and bars that make the trip. 8)

Ahh... The adventure begins.

Good to hear that you made it there smoothly. What's the deal with the maps? I'm sure you have memorized them anyway.

Have fun, keep us updated.

Right ON Doog!

Some things happen for a reason, i.e. losing all of your plans.

I bet you've got enough knowledge stored inside that Noggin to last all of us a lifetime.

More Updates!

Have a grande time mi amigo!

way to go, doog!
have fun and as was said up above - enjoy yourself at the coffeeshops meeting locals and fellow travellers...
granted - staying in room for first smoke after a while was probably OK planning but since you have some of that good ol' thc in your body you can swing with the big boys now...

Wicked to see you begining to settle into the Amsterdam vibe. Three days till I'm there.

That hook up you mentioned, still on the cards?

Who let the Doog out.....

The beating heart of the city viewed through a smokey haze
Time and space suspends itself as the awareness clears the ways
The tokens of civilization drop from enthusiastic high monsters
And who the hell needs maps anyways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
