Amsterdam metro reopens

Amsterdam's metro system between central station and Amstel station reopened on Monday morning.
The line was closed for nearly five weeks to allow contractors to improve fire safety. However, a dispute over the contract means that work was not carried out.
According to Amsterdam council, maintenance on escalators and lifts was done instead.
