12th-15th September; off the rails

Post by welshmans_beard »

When The Donald's Iranian FUBAR was really affecting the price of flights a few months back, a unique opportunity arose; for the first time in my many years of looking it was actually cheaper to get the Eurostar!

So, with that in mind, I am away from 12th to 15th September with an outbound train to Rotterdam and a return from Amsterdam.

I've previously only had a couple of hours in Rotterdam on a cruise last year, so this time there's a night and a day to try have a more in-depth look around. I do know there's only a few shops with smoking rooms, does anyone know of any smoke-friendly bars?

Apart from that, it's the old Dam Favourites and probably a trip on the Smokeboat. I had thought to visit Den Haag and Haarlem, but it's an evening arrival and an early-ish departure on the last day so shall instead prioritise the "2 Dams" for this trip.

If anyone is in town, hit me up!

I agree Eurostar has got very pricey, but I absolutely love it. No faffing about at airports and pulls up right in the centre of town :D

It's always seemed expensive, especially considering the extra travel I'd have to factor in to get to Saint Pancras, but they had a sale on so wasn't too bad; plus the Standard Plus upgrade was only a tenner each way (we're going all posh on this lads haha).

Eurostar seems like a pretty good option if you're down that area. Do you get the eurostar all the way to Rotterdam?

Have a great time only 26 days to go.
