Need to get a camera to take some Bud shots.
What is the minimun megapixels i would require to get a decent viewable picture?
Tried my mobile but it is crap and too blured
Thanks
It's not so much the megapixels more how good the macro is, I've seen plenty of Canon Powershot cameras for around the £100 mark which I'd imagine would be good enough, dont be fooled by these no-name ones that are about 10megapixels for £60 as they're generally pretty shit cameras.
While I think about it you also need to take into account how much the memory cards are as well, I originally got a Sony one that was a good price but the memory cards/sticks cost me a small fortune, I like to stick to things that take SD memory now.
These days i wouldnt go less than 5MP but Boner is right, its not just the MP that determines the quality, you need a camera that can focus well and take good pictures in all kinds of light etc, peace

i have a Kodak Easy Share DX4530 5MP that is several years old, look in the "what are you smoking now" thread to see a pic of NYC diesel i just took and posted with it. im sure the newer models are even better, hope this helps, peace.
If you visit Jessops.com they have a huge selection. Personally I'd buy a Fujifilm Finepix S1000fd (£150). It's not an SLR, so obviously if changing lenses is a must for you you should buy an SLR. Canon make some great ones, but they can be quite heavy to lug around all day.
I have Canon EOS3000 SLR (35mm) as when I bought it 5 years ago you had to spend a lot of money on digital to get the same quality as a well scanned negative. I think that in that time digicams have come a long way, but will still become outdated as technology moves forward.
Cheers 4 that ash.
I had been looking at the Canon Eos range but dont want to spend all that cash on something that aint any good so i thought i would ask here first as you guys are full of great Info.
Hopefully get sorted soon so i can drop these pics on.
Thanks all
any more suggestions are very welcome!
Can't help on the DSLR front as I'm more of a point & shoot person, I'd love one but as usual the Mrs asks me to justify buying something and as usual I can't.
If you got a budget at around 500, 100-150 will get you something decent, and you got 300-400 to have a field trip and try it out. i had to have a spliff to figure that out;)

and Boner my missus is the same m8 always wants me to justify what i spend.

I've got the 7.1megapixel version of this: clicky it's a few years old now which is probably why the equivelant is 10megapixels.
